Welcome to the new 'improving' Blean Primary School Website - Headteacher's Page
Hello. My Name is Keith Oliver and I have been the Headteacher at the school since April 2000, although between April 2008 - April 2010 I was seconded to the Local Authority as Primary Excellence Project advisory Headteacher which entailed working to support Canterbury's 22 Primary schools.
Whilst I did relish the challenge of working with other schools and learnt as much as I advised, I am delighted to be "back home" at what is a very special primary school.
During my time at Blean there has been many achievements including two very successful Ofsted repoorts reports in 2002 and 2007, achieving Artsmark at Gold level twice, Gold standard Eco school, Gold standard Extended School, Healthy and Active Schools and our latest venture is an application for the gold bench mark as an International School. This reflects our broad approach to the curriculum and learning, English and Maths are crucial but we feel it is important to offer a rich and diverse learning experience for our children.
Blean is a fantastic place to work and learn. We have a really great team of people working hard to give the children an exciting, broad and varied education. Our tagline is 'Working together to enjoy and achieve' and we believe that says it all.
As the website is still developing, if you have any comments or feedback (constructive or complimentary), please let us know. I hope you enjoy your visit.
